American Giant
It started with a sweatshirt. The greatest one in the world.
When we started working with American Giant in 2011, the world looked different. And so did American Giant, making one simple sweatshirt at a single factory in San Francisco. But their vision was big: to build the next great American clothing brand. So we got to work. A deep partnership with the founder helped us build — and own — two distinct narratives that would drive our storytelling for the next eight years: we made the greatest product in the world, and had a unique philosophy on what it takes to make a great product.
We brought the design process to life, we wrote a book on the demise of retail and future of brands, we took people on odysseys to see the impact and humming revival of domestic manufacturing throughout the US.
And in our earliest days, we found one young writer that would help the world understand that this really was the greatest hoodie ever made, and change the course of the business forever.
American Giant now operates in several factories throughout the US, three of which they wholly own. And they make much, much more than a sweatshirt.
